Something I spend a lot of time thinking about professionally as well as personal is how symbols work, emotionally and psychologically. And I'd argue that there is no more potent symbols of Britain than the working Royals...and American's are fundamentally unprepared to engage with the concept of living national symbols because we just don't have them.
