Rhetorical literacy, arguing on the internet...and in real life!

I've been thinking about the media literacy crisis in a lot of contexts, but most especially this week, an aspect of media and engagement comprehension that is less about the ability to read and more about the ability to understand rhetorical tactics.

What fights are worth having, and which are designed to intentionally waste your time, make you angry, or force you to defend positions you may have not even originally communicated?

A convo style ramble about good faith and bad faith discussions, online and in persona difficult conversations, and some notes from a chronically online girl about how to use your attention and energy in ways that matter. I don't know if this is something that maybe should be a memberships or Patreon style bit of content in the future, it might be too personal or emotional for what I normally do? I dunno, as always I just thoughts and feelings and enjoy expelling them through chatter. If you like it, if you hate it, let me know!

And a programming note, yes some words in this are bleeped. Believe me no one is more irritated about this than I am, but the fact is that when I use blunt words to describe certain crimes (on the personal and national scale), YouTube flags it. I refuse to use weird online work arounds like "grape" and "unalive" because no matter how chronically online I am, it just feels juvenile to me. Also, I just swear a lot of YouTube has opinions about this too. But I'm not going to stop.
