Culture, Media, and the Loss of Soft Power

Culture, Media, and the Loss of Soft Power

My fellow Americans, we need to talk. And for my non-Americans, hopefully this gives some nuance to your understanding of...I dunno, why we're like this?

The broader thesis is that in addition to wildly reshaping the geopolitical world order, media and cultural is shifting to bypass or exclude America the same way business and supply chains are. I don't think most Americans understand what this means, how it will show up in their lives in myriad ways, and why this new reality will be bad for us.

I DON'T think America necessarily should (or deserves to) retain its position of cultural dominance...if anything I think we've proven we can't be trusted to hold it! But losing it will hurt us and I wish more Americans took that seriously instead of stupid trolling nonsense.

Anyway, here's my brain dump.
